Today marks a very important day for 3 and perhaps even the whole mobile industry in the UK.

From the 1st May 3 has introduced Free Calls Forever!

Free Calls Forever utilises our strength with Skype and opens up free Skype-to-Skype calls for both Contract and Pay As You Go customers – WITH NO DATA CHARGES!

I’ll reiterate… No data charges for Skype-to-Skype calls. Forever!

Because our network has been designed and built for the Mobile Internet, we can offer you internet calls with Skype for free on all compatible handsets (the majority), something that the other networks aren’t doing.

You’ll be amazed at how easy setting up Skype on 3 is and just how much you can save. All you need to get started is Skype (which is already available on most 3 mobiles) and a username and password.

What’s the catch?
There isn’t one. Seriously.

On a contract mobile, you can make free Skype-to-Skype calls with no extra data charges.

Or make free Skype-to-Skype calls as soon as your Pay As You Go mobile is active – without ever needing to top up. How about that!

It really is free calls, free for all of us, free forever.

In addition to the core campaign we’ve reintroduced the 3 Skypephone, the S2. This has always been a best seller for us and is of course specifically set up to take advantage of Skype.

I’m also very happy to announce that we have scrapped the old Skypephone commission limit of £25 for the affiliates. From today, if you sell a 3 Skypephone you will receive the full commission for the applicable tariff, just like any other handset. This will really open up the selling potential of the 3 Skypephone to the affiliates for the first time. But don’t forget Skype is available on many of our handsets, not just the S2!
